MARIETTA, Ga. (AP) - Skeletal remains found near Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park have been identified as those of a missing hiker.

WSB-TV reports 25-year-old David Blake disappeared March 9. Officials confirmed Wednesday that the remains found Monday are Blake’s.

Cobb County police said the remains were located on a road a good distance from one of the park’s trails after a hiker discovered them. Police worked with U.S. Park Rangers to find and collect the remains, hiking through steep, rugged terrain. The park is just under 3,000 acres (1214 hectares).

Police searched the same area for Blake seven months ago. They found the Marietta man’s car in the parking lot near an overflow lot near the park. Blake’s keys were sitting in a cup holder.

There’s no word on how Blake died.
