MADISON, Wis. (AP) - Two weeks after the death of his father, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker’s mother is appearing with him in a new campaign commercial.
The Republican Walker sits on a recliner near his mother Pat Walker in the ad , his 32nd of the campaign, released Wednesday.
It comes the day after Walker released an attack ad against Democratic opponent Tony Evers claiming he wants “special treatment for illegals.”
Pat Walker says in the ad that she is “really proud of the way Scott helps people around the state like me who have suffered from cancer.”
Walker has talked about his mom and other family members when promising to provide insurance guarantees for people with pre-existing conditions. Democrats say he can’t be trusted since he wants to repeal the national health care law that provides those guarantees.
