RENO, Nev. (AP) - Nevada senior Cody Martin is one of 20 players to be named to a watch list for the 2019 Bob Cousy Award presented annually to the best point guard in the nation among the NCAA’s largest schools.
The 6-foot-7 guard averaged 14 points, 4.7 assists, 1.7 steals, and 1.5 blocked shots while shooting 51.6 percent from the field for the Wolf Pack during last year’s 29-8 run to the Sweet Sixteen. He started the last 10 games of the season at point guard.
Martin is the only player from the Mountain West Conference on the watch list.
He and his twin brother Caleb, a 6-foot-7 forward, transferred to Nevada following their sophomore seasons at North Carolina State.
The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame issues the award named after the former Boston Celtic and Holy Cross guard.
