BUTTE, Mont. (AP) - A female inmate died at the Butte-Silver Bow Detention Center over the weekend.

Sheriff Led Lester tells The Montana Standard the woman was found unresponsive at about 2 p.m. Saturday. Efforts to revive her were unsuccessful.

Coroner Lee LeBreche took the woman’s body to the state crime lab in Missoula for an autopsy.



The sheriff’s office and the Montana Division of Criminal Investigation are investigating the death.

The woman’s name was being withheld until family members could be notified.
