DOVER, Del. (AP) - Police in Delaware say a hospital employee had been stealing prescription pills while working in a pharmacy for the past year.

Dover Police spokesman Master Cpl. Mark Hoffman says 48-year-old Paul Davis was arrested Tuesday. The Delaware State News reports that the Bayhealth Kent General Hospital employee was charged with offenses that include four counts of acquiring or obtaining possession of prescription pills by theft.

Public Safety officers from the hospital had discovered suspected drug thefts from the pharmacy at the hospital and notified Dover police. Police say an investigation revealed that Davis had been stealing several prescription pills while working in the pharmacy for the past year.

It’s unclear if Davis has a lawyer who could comment.
