INTERLACHEN, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say a Florida teen died after his truck hit two deer and then crashed into a tree.

News outlets report that the crash occurred early Saturday morning near Interlachen in Putnam County.

Florida Highway Patrol says 16-year-old Jackson Jerolaman and his two passengers were traveling at a high rate of speed when the truck hit the deer. Troopers say Jerolaman lost control, and the front of the truck struck a tree.

Jerolaman was pronounced dead at the scene. The two passengers were hospitalized with minor injuries.
