MIDDLEBURY, Vt. (AP) - An independent Vermont state’s attorney candidate has called for a recount.

Vermont Public Radio reports Peter Bevere lost last week to Democratic incumbent Dennis Wygmans by 10 votes in the race for Addison County State’s Attorney.

Officials say county superior court Clerk Kelly Munger will oversee the recount, which is scheduled to begin Nov. 26.

State law requires recounts to be managed by at least 12 court-approved volunteers.

Will Senning, the director of elections and campaign finance at the Vermont Secretary of State’s Office, says the recount shouldn’t take more than three days.

Officials say a state representative race in the Grand Isle-Chittenden district and a race for probate judge in Franklin County are up for a recount as well.
