Authorities: 2 found dead after Upper Peninsula vehicle fire

PORTAGE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say the bodies of two people have been found following a vehicle fire in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.

Houghton County Undersheriff Kevin Coppo says deputies were dispatched to Portage Township on Sunday to respond to a report of a vehicle fire.

WLUC-TV reports firefighters found two bodies inside the vehicle.

Names of the dead weren’t immediately released. The sheriff’s department, the county medical examiner and the Michigan State Police fire marshal’s office are investigating.
