DANIELSON, Conn. (AP) - A Connecticut man who previously pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a child has been sentenced to more than 20 years in prison.
The Norwich Bulletin reports that 29-year-old Michael McCurdy, of Willimantic, was sentenced last week to 23 years in prison.
He pleaded guilty in February to charges of sexual assault on a victim younger than 10, risk of injury and violation of probation.
Prosecutors say McCurdy molested and assaulted a 7-year-old girl multiple times before turning himself in to police in April 2016. He served prison time on a previous conviction of assaulting a 14-year-old baby sitter in 2002.
Prosecutor Andrew Slitt says McCurdy’s latest victim was “crushed in the worst way imaginable.”
