WATERFORD, N.Y. (AP) - The Erie Canal is opening for another season.
Canal Corporation officials are hosting a ceremony Tuesday north of Albany to mark the opening of the 194th navigation season along the eastern Erie Canal from Waterford to Utica.
Officials will open the gates at Lock E-2 in Waterford to allow the first recreational boats of the year through.
