Boy, 2, critically injured in apparent accidental shooting

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say a 2-year-old boy was shot and wounded at his home in Florida.

Sgt. Chuck Ford with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office tells The Florida Times-Union that Bradley Wayne Schwarzer was home with his mother when the apparent accidental shooting occurred Monday night. Schwarzer was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.

Ford said detectives will interview the child’s parents and others to find out where the gun was and how the child was injured. The State Attorney’s Office and the Florida Department of Children and Families are investigating.
