WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) - A beloved gastro pub is closing the day after its manager pleaded guilty for lying to federal investigators.
The Worcester Telegram reports Hangover Pub & Broth restaurant manager Christopher Slavinskas pleaded guilty Thursday in federal court for lying to investigators about a money laundering case.
His restaurant shuttered the next day.
The office of U.S. Attorney Andrew Lelling says 32-year-old Slavinskas was interviewed last summer about concealing cash proceeds from drug sales associated with convicted restaurant owner Kevin Perry. He concealed more than $100,000 more than he told law enforcement.
The announcement to close was posted on the Worcester business’ Facebook page.
Slavinskas will be sentenced in June.
