WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - A woman who was secretly filmed in the restroom of a Delaware restaurant has sued the man who pleaded guilty to planting the camera.
The News Journal of Wilmington reported Thursday that the woman filed suit against former Moe’s Southwest Grill employee Luis Eduardo Lopez for violation of privacy and emotional distress.
The camera was discovered in March 2016, and Lopez pleaded guilty to five felony charges of violation of privacy in January 2017. He’s serving a five-year sentence.
Court records indicate at least six women were captured on video. Plaintiff’s attorney Stephen P. Norman says it hasn’t been determined whether there are enough victims to constitute a class-action filing.
The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages. The newspaper did not report a response from Lopez.
