BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - Authorities have determined that the death of a missing Vermont teenager was a homicide.

Nineteen-year-old Austin Colson of South Royalton had been missing since January. His body was found on May 23 in a wooded area in the town of Norwich. An autopsy has determined that he died of gunshot wounds to the head.

Colson is believed to have made plans to collect scrap metal on Jan. 11, the day he was last seen. The following week, the utility trailer Colson was believed to have been using was found abandoned with a partial load of scrap metal in Sharon.



Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the state police.
