PROVO, Utah (AP) - A trial has been scheduled for a former Provo restaurant owner accused of posing as a doctor to sexually assault women.
The Daily Herald reports 34-year-old Borzin Mottaghian pleaded not guilty in February to 17 felony charges, including 12 counts of object rape and two counts of forcible sexual abuse.
According to court documents, a four-day trial for Mottaghian has been scheduled for early December.
Authorities say Mottaghian posted advertisements online offering to pay $200 to women for their help in developing a “medical device.” Authorities say he met with two women separately under false pretenses and assaulted them.
Mottaghian was arrested in October after an undercover officer set up an appointment with him.
According to court documents, Mottaghian does not have any medical certifications.
