FORT GARLAND, Colo. (AP) - A wildfire in southern Colorado has burned nearly 2 square miles (5 square kilometers) and forced hundreds of evacuations.

San Luis Valley Emergency tweeted Wednesday night that an evacuation notice has been sent to nearly 400 phone numbers in the Forbes Park area east of Fort Garland. The fire, which was reported earlier in the day, is zero percent contained.

A helicopter is at the scene, and a large air tanker is headed to the area.

Authorities have not said if any structures have burned.

Fort Garland is about 160 miles (257 kilometers) south of Denver.
