SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) - Officials have approved placing a seed business in Sangamon County, despite concerns about busy roads, dust and lower property values.

The State Journal-Register reports that the Zoning Board of Appeals approved an exception Thursday for Advanced Seed Solutions to move its headquarters to five acres just north of Interstate 72.

Neighbors said the business will create more traffic on roads ill-equipped to handle it. They worry property values will suffer and that more businesses will move in.

Advanced Seed Solutions is based in Morgan County but owners need more room. The company plans a 200-foot-by-80-foot storage area and attached office. They say most orders are delivered.

The zoning board’s unanimous recommendation goes to the Sangamon County Board for action on July 10.
