In training camp last year, wide receiver Terrelle Pryor looked, at times, like a superstar.

The Redskins’ prized free agent signing routinely made one-handed catches and big plays during practices. Pryor even drew the ire of the defense sometimes, like when Bashaud Breeland was thrown out of a walkthrough for shoving Pryor in a drill.

But Pryor underwhelmed during the regular season, putting up disappointing numbers and finishing the year on injured reserve.

Pryor ended up signing with the New York Jets in March — which means the wide receiver will make his return to Richmond when the two teams have joint practices Aug. 12-14.

And the Redskins defense appears to already have the meetings circled on their calendar.

“That’s going to be something right there,” linebacker Zach Brown said on The Team 980. “The boys are gonna have it out for him. We can put hands on him now.”

The Redskins defense wasn’t allowed to tackle in practice, which could explain why Pryor was more effective in training camp than the actual season.

Brown said Pryor would “catch a forearm” if the receiver tried to showboat again in camp.

“Jay ain’t here to protect you anymore,” Brown said.

The Jets and the Redskins will also face each other Aug. 16 in Week 2 of the preseason.
