OPINION:
“MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace says GOP left her: ’This Republican Party is unrecognizable to me’” (Web, June 10) takes us back 10 years to when Ms. Wallace was a communications aide on Sen. John McCain’s 2008 presidential campaign. The vitriol she now spews about President Trump is like the hostility she showed to Mr. McCain’s running mate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.
Reports then were that Ms. Wallace disliked Mrs. Palin, gave her a hard time and was the one who insisted that the campaign buy the vice presidential candidate an expensive designer wardrobe. In her book “Going Rogue,” Mrs. Palin writes that the campaign aides blocked her from speaking to the press aboard Mr. McCain’s plane, but then Ms. Wallace pushed her to do a September 2008 interview with CBS’ Katie Couric — without preparing her. The interview seriously damaged Mrs. Palin’s image.
Ms. Wallace seems to have found her niche at MSNBC.
