Trooper’s daughter convicted in boyfriend’s slaying

YORK, N.Y. (AP) - A state police major’s daughter in upstate New York has been convicted of manslaughter in the slaying of her boyfriend.

A Livingston County jury returned the verdict against Danielle Allen on Thursday. She was charged with fatally stabbing her boyfriend, Marcus Postell, in her home in November 2016. She claimed it was in self-defense as he angrily attacked her.

Allen is the daughter of Maj. Richard Allen, state police commander for a 10-county area that includes Livingston.

She faces between five and 25 years in prison at her Sept. 25 sentencing.
