Cable news coverage of the high-stakes meeting between President Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin was intense and plentiful. One network did it better, however.
According to early Nielsen Media Research numbers, special coverage from Fox News Channel on Monday drew the largest audience.
Over 3.3. million viewers tuned in during the prime-time hours to see Fox News coverage, compared to 2.9 million for MSNBC and 1.7 million for CNN.
During the entire day, Fox News average 2 million viewers, while MSNBC drew 1.4 million and CNN a million.
Additionally, Chris Wallace’s exclusive interview with Mr. Putin following the summit averaged while Sean Hannity’s interview with Mr. Trump garnered just under 4 million.
In the digital realm, digital, Monday marked as one of Fox News’ top five days for visitors to its website. Fox News also ranked No. 1 as the “most engaged news brand” across social media platforms Facebook, Twitter and Instagram combined.
