Los Angeles Dodgers second baseman Chase Utley announced he will hold a press conference Friday afternoon, and multiple reports indicate he will say he will retire after the 2018 season.

Utley spent more than 12 seasons with the Philadelphia Phillies, with whom he won the World Series in 2008. Philadelphia traded him to the Dodgers in 2015.

In his career, Utley has racked up 259 home runs, 409 doubles, 1,025 RBIs and a lifetime batting average of .276. He was named to the All-Star Game six times.

As of Friday, he also ranks in the top 100 for all-time wins above replacement (WAR) for position players, according to the “RallyMonkey” calculation. Utley’s career WAR is 65.6, higher than Hall of Famers Craig Biggio, Andre Dawson and Dave Winfield, a point some make when saying Utley deserves to be enshrined.
