CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - A former West Virginia state employee has been indicted on charges that she made unauthorized purchases with her state-issued purchasing card.

The Charleston Gazette-Mail reports a grand jury indicted 34-year-old Casandra Renae Taylor last week on 11 counts of felony misuse of a state purchase card, among other offenses.

According to a criminal complaint, Taylor was an employee with the West Virginia Division of Homeland Security when she allegedly made the unauthorized purchases.

Authorities say Taylor made more than $3,000 in unauthorized purchases using her state-issued purchase card. Some of the charges were made on a Square credit card reader as well as at Kroger and Appalachian Power.

The newspaper did not report whether Taylor has a lawyer.
