LUCEDALE, Miss. (AP) - A reward is being offered for information about a Mississippi inmate who tied up a guard and stole the guard’s pickup truck.

Crime Stoppers is offering the $2,500 reward after Eugene Robinson escaped the George County Regional Correctional Facility on Saturday night.

Robinson, in prison since 2003, was serving a 30-year sentence. George County Sheriff Keith Havard tells WLOX-TV that Robinson was a trusty, saying that status gave him access to areas outside secured areas of the jail.

The 37-year-old Robinson took the officer’s 2000 GMC Sonoma pickup, with a Greene County license plate.

Robinson was convicted of armed robbery in Choctaw County and burglary in Oktibbeha County.

Robinson is 6-feet, 1-inch tall (1.83-meter) and weighs 230 pounds (105 kilograms). He has tattoos on his arms, chest, and back.
