Start your Monday off with a little righteous outrage. Louisiana Tech basketball player Jacobi Boykins was ejected from a game last Thursday when he apparently dunked the ball too hard.

technical foul? @LATechHoops’ Boykins is ejected after receiving his second technical foul of the night. Jason Capel does NOT agree. Now on @beINSPORTSUSA pic.twitter.com/Qygq4yjFIc
Yikes.
It was a Conference USA game, so it came and went a few days ago with little fanfare, but ESPN college basketball analyst Jay Bilas brought it to more mainstream attention Monday morning:
Simply ridiculous. https://t.co/cSOWXOU1WX

Boykins received a technical earlier in the game that the fans and announcers also found questionable. But there was nothing close to a foul of any kind on the dunk.
Color commentator Jason Capel, upon seeing the referee’s call, said, “This is completely out of hand, what’s going on. You have to allow these players to play. … You must be be allowed to show some sort of emotion.”
Louisiana Tech won its game easily despite this, but it’s unclear if the ref who called the technical — who stood at mid-court at the time, far from the play — will face discipline of any kind.
