Science scores on the rise in New Hampshire schools

CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - New Hampshire students are scoring higher in science though some districts are flagging.

New Hampshire Public Radio reports that 42 percent of students are proficient in science, up from seven percent in 2016.

That’s according to the New Hampshire Department of Education’s recently released annual report.

Overall, 58 percent of students scored proficient at English with 48 percent proficient at math.

Students reached over 70 percent proficiency in both math and English language arts in some districts such as Sunapee School District.

Meanwhile, proficiency scores were lower in the state’s poorest districts including Manchester and Winchester.
