Grocery worker shot and killed inside store on Christmas Eve

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Authorities say a woman has been shot to death inside the Alabama grocery store where she worked.

Birmingham Police Sgt. Johnny Williams said the woman had an ongoing problem with the person who shot her.

But Williams told reporters he wasn’t sure what led to the 11:55 a.m. Christmas Eve shooting at a Piggly Wiggly north of downtown Birmingham.

Williams says the woman’s name will be released after her family is notified.

Williams says police are still looking for the shooter and no charges have been filed.
