GREENBRIER, Tenn. (AP) - The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation says an undercover officer shot and injured a suspect who struck him with a vehicle.

News outlets report Greenbrier police officers were conducting an undercover drug operation Friday when a subject of their efforts attempted to flee.

A TBI news release says the man struck the undercover officer with the vehicle. The officer shot into the vehicle at least once and struck him in a parking lot.



The suspect’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. Doctors are evaluating the officer. Another officer is undergoing medical treatment for exposure to a substance believed to be heroin.

TBI agents are investigating the incident.
