MANDEVILLE, La. (AP) - Authorities in a New Orleans suburb say a 14-year-old girl has been arrested on a terrorizing charge.

St. Tammany Parish Sheriff Randy Smith says she allegedly told two schoolmates she planned to harm other students at Lakeshore High School in Mandeville.

The sheriff’s office said in a news release Friday that the girl was arrested Thursday evening. It was unknown if she’s represented by an attorney.

The sheriff’s statement said administrators called in the two students’ reports about 3:15 p.m. Thursday, and detectives went to the school. Other details were not released.

Smith says, “We have made it very clear that threats like this will be taken seriously.”

The investigation is continuing.
