The oddsmakers may have gotten a bit too zealous with this one.

Tiger Woods was considered one of the favorites to win the Masters in his first appearance at the major event since 2015. Woods scored two top-five finishes earlier in the season and seemed to have a full head of steam entering Augusta National.

Instead, Woods made the cut just one stroke better than the number Friday and finished the tournament 1 over par (73-75-72-69).

That’s not to say he didn’t produce highlight moments, particularly on Sunday in his best round of the week. He nearly rolled in a hole-in-one on hole 4 and later sank a long eagle putt on hole 15, which brought him to minus-3 for the round.

Woods made five birdies and that eagle in the final round. But a bogey on his 72nd hole, his fourth of the day, pushed him back to plus-1.

While Woods was not back to peak form this week, news updates about his rounds and his whereabouts ticked up like it was 2004, upsetting some golf fans throughout the week.
