NORWICH, Vt. (AP) - Town officials in Vermont are discussing a plan to designate a planned solar array as a preferred site for energy development.
Norwich Solar Technologies last month filed a 45-day notice seeking the Vermont Public Utility Commission’s approval for the installation. The Valley News reports the Norwich Energy Committee supports the array project, which would cover about 3.5 acres and contain 2,160 solar panels.
The town select board on Wednesday will discuss whether to designate the location as a “preferred site” to bolster the application before the Vermont Public Utility Commission.
A draft letter in support of preferred site designation in Wednesday’s select board packet includes signature lines for the select board and planning commission chairs.
