Kansas woman dies when car is struck by train

ELSMORE, Kan. (AP) - A 62-year-old Kansas woman has died after her car was struck by a train.

The Topeka Capital-Journal reports that the accident happened Saturday afternoon in Allen County. The Kansas Highway Patrol reports that Melodee McEndree of Elsmore was driving on Idaho Road when she failed to stop at train tracks. Her 2008 Honda was struck by a southbound train.

McEndree died at the scene. No one on the train was hurt.
