CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - New Hampshire State Police are increasing patrols this Labor Day holiday weekend to include sobriety checkpoints.

Troopers are focusing on speeding and aggressive driving, as well as impaired and distracted driving.

There were 130 fatal crashes in New Hampshire in 2016 resulting in 136 deaths. State police say 70 of the vehicle occupants in these crashes were not wearing seatbelts, and 56 percent of these crashes involved alcohol or drugs.
