ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - The Latest on a KRQE-TV news helicopter crash (all times local):

8:35 a.m.

New Mexico state police have confirmed that an Albuquerque TV station’s news helicopter crashed, killing the pilot.



KRQE-TV reports Sunday (https://bit.ly/2x8iYuF) that police confirm pilot and reporter Bob Martin died in the accident.

The station says the helicopter crashed Saturday afternoon near Carrizozo, about 150 miles (240 kilometers) east of Albuquerque.

The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the accident.

The station says Martin worked at KRQE for more than 20 years.

An Albuquerque TV station reports that it appears its news helicopter has crashed, taking the life of the pilot.

KRQE-TV reports (https://bit.ly/2x8iYuF) that while the pilot has not been officially identified, evidence found at the crash site suggests that the victim was pilot-reporter Bob Martin. The station said the helicopter crashed at around 4:30 p.m. MDT in rugged terrain near Carrizozo, about 150 miles southeast of Albuquerque.

The station’s website said Martin has worked at KRQE for more than 20 years, and often shoots, writes and edits his stories.
