JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) - Police in Alaska’s capital city say remains recently discovered in the woods belonged to a woman who was reported missing earlier this year.
Juneau police said Friday that the state medical examiner’s office identified the remains as belonging to 53-year-old Teri Heuscher of Juneau.
In a release, police said that a possible cause of death is pending. But based on a preliminary analysis, they said foul play is not suspected.
Heuscher was reported missing in June. Her car was found parked near a trailhead.
Police said a hunter earlier this week discovered the remains by a campsite.
