ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (AP) - A northwest Missouri man who originally was charged with involuntary manslaughter in connection with a fatal shooting now faces a murder charge.
The St. Joseph News-Press reports that 24-year-old Raydel Cespedes of St. Joseph has been charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action in Buchanan County.
Authorities say Cespedes shot 27-year-old Anthony Miner Jr. during an argument Aug. 10 at Cespedes’ home. Miner died at the scene.
Buchanan County Assistant Prosecutor Ron Holliday filed the amended complaint charges Thursday.
A phone message left by The Associated Press seeking comment from Cespedes’ attorney wasn’t immediately returned.
Cespedes remains in custody on $50,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court Friday afternoon.
