TULLY, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say a 23—year-old woman was critically injured when her car and a tractor-trailer collided on Interstate 81.
The Post-Standard reports that the crash happened around 10:40 p.m. Wednesday near Exit 14 in the Onondaga County town of Tully, 15 miles (24 kilometers) south of Syracuse.
The sheriff’s office says the woman driving the car, 23-year-old Mikeyia Hall, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, is being treated at Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse. The truck driver, 40-year-old Hugo Ojeda, of Bloomfield, New Jersey, wasn’t injured.
Police say the woman’s car spun sideways and then was struck by the tractor-trailer.
Deputies are investigating the cause of the accident.
The state Department of Transportation says I-81’s northbound lanes reopened around 5:30 a.m. Thursday.
