RUTLAND, Vt. (AP) - The mayor of Rutland, Vermont, has selected a new superintendent of the city’s Recreation and Parks Department.
The Rutland Herald reports Mayor David Allaire’s office on Monday announced Kim Peters had been chosen to replace Cindi Wight. Peters had previously worked as recreation director for the town of Killington.
Allaire said Peters brings years of experience as recreation director and events coordinator in Killington.
Peters graduated from Ohio State University with a bachelor’s degree in history and sociology. She has worked as full-time recreation director since May 2015.
Peters says she hopes to encourage “outside-the-box thinking” when improving the quality of Killington’s programs.
The appointment needs to be approved by the Board of Aldermen. Members are expected to decide during their next meeting Oct. 16.
