CLAY, N.Y. (AP) - New York State police have opened an investigation after $18,000 in cash was stolen from a church in suburban Syracuse.

The Post-Standard reports the money from the Trinity Assembly of God was taken between April and October. According to state police, it’s not clear if the money from the town of Clay church was taken all at once or in smaller sums.

Police continue to investigate.
