Downtown LA averaged record high of 85 degrees in October

LOS ANGELES (AP) - November is off to a cloudy and occasionally drizzly start in Southern California, a marked change from October.

The National Weather Service says the average maximum temperature for last month in downtown Los Angeles was 85 degrees.

The service says that’s an all-time record for the month of October going back to the start of weather record keeping in 1877.
