BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - High temperatures are pushing 90 as warm May air blankets North Dakota.
The National Weather Service says Bismarck reached 88 degrees by mid-afternoon Sunday, more than 20 degrees above the average maximum temperature.
Williston was at 87 degrees Sunday after tying a record high of 89 on Saturday. The temperature in Dickinson had soared to 89 by Sunday afternoon.
Forecasters say there is a chance of thunderstorms Sunday night over western and most of central North Dakota but nothing severe is expected. Temperatures will fall to more seasonal levels in the upper 60s and low 70s for the rest of the week as a cold front moves through.
