TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Pima Community College says it’s received over $1 million in federal grants for low-income and first-generation college students.

The school is announcing the grants on Wednesday. The University of Arizona also received a $275,500 grant as part of the program.

The money will benefit Upward Bound, a federal program that helps low-income high school students with tutoring, career counseling and college workshops.

Pima Community College has four such programs, and each benefits a different high school. The University of Arizona hosts one program.
