LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - A 21-year-old man has pleaded not guilty in the fatal shooting of a 2-year-old Little Rock girl last year.
The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette (https://bit.ly/2rZc86J ) reports Deshaun Rushing entered his plea Thursday in the death of Ramiya Reed.
Rushing turned himself in to police Wednesday and was arrested on capital murder and six counts of unlawful discharge of a firearm from a vehicle. He is being held without bond.
Police say Ramiya was riding in a vehicle with her mother and others on Nov. 22 when she was struck by gunshots fired into their vehicle.
Little Rock authorities say a 17-year-old boy was arrested Tuesday in connection to the shooting, and faces the same charges as Rushing.
The boy’s attorney entered a not guilty plea Wednesday on his client’s behalf.
