D’oh!

Homer Simpson — yes, that one — will be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame to honor the 25th anniversary of “The Simpsons” episode “Homer at Bat.”

The episode will have its own yearlong display at the Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York, starting Saturday. Executives and writers from “The Simpsons” will host a roundtable on Saturday to discuss the episode.

“Baseball is recognized as our national pastime due to its wide intersection with American culture over the last two centuries, evident in literature, theater, language, art, music, film and television,” Hall President Jeff Idelson said in a  statement to the Los Angeles Times. “’The Simpsons’ is a perfect example of that connection to Americana.”

“Homer at Bat,” which first aired on Feb. 20, 1992, featured appearances from nine MLB players at the time: Ken Griffey Jr., Mike Scioscia, Wade Boggs, Ozzie Smith, Roger Clemens, Darryl Strawberry, Steve Sax, Jose Canseco and Don Mattingly.
