LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - A 17-year-old boy has pleaded not guilty in the death of a 2-year-old Little Rock girl who was fatally shot last year.

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette (https://bit.ly/2rhHp8z ) reports the teen’s attorney appeared Wednesday in court on behalf of his client, who is charged with capital murder and six counts of unlawful discharge of a firearm from a vehicle in the death of Ramiya Reed.

Police say Ramiya was riding in a vehicle with her mother and others on Nov. 22 when she was struck by gunshots fired into their vehicle.

Little Rock authorities say the teen was arrested Tuesday and is being held without bond.

According to police, a second suspect in the case surrendered to authorities Wednesday.
