SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) - A woman implicated in the dismemberment of a homicide victim in central New York has pleaded guilty to helping cover up the killing.
The Post-Standard of Syracuse reports (https://bit.ly/2rzFwRU ) 48-year-old Connie Ingoldby, of Schroeppel (SCROO’-puhl), pleaded guilty Friday to felony hindering prosecution.
Authorities say 29-year-old Corey Slattery killed Aikeem Hudgins, of Syracuse, last December in Slattery’s apartment in nearby Cicero. Officials say Slattery used a chain saw to dismember the body and burned some of the remains.
Ingoldby admitted to helping Slattery clean up the apartment and watching as he cut up the body and burned the remains, then helped dispose of them in several garbage bins.
Slattery faces a trial this summer on murder charges. He claimed he killed Hudgins in self-defense.
A motive for the slaying hasn’t been determined.
