TUPELO, Miss. (AP) - A Mississippi man charged with murder says he’s accepted he did something to hurt his family.
The Daily Journal reports (https://bit.ly/2qC3zBu ) 35-year-old Antonio Gladney said in court Thursday afternoon he’s ready to “man up.” A $5 million bond was set for charges he faces in the death of his mother, 66-year-old Molly Gladney.
Lee County Sheriff Jim Johnson says deputies discovered the woman’s body in the carport of her Shannon home the evening of May 14, Mother’s Day. He says multiple items were used in the attack, including garden tools.
Gladney said he wasn’t in his right mind at the time of the killing and was “under the influence of something.” He’s charged with murder and possession of a firearm by a felon.
It’s unclear if Gladney has an attorney.
