Give Jose Bautista a break already.
The Toronto Blue Jays outfielder was plunked in the leg Thursday by Atlanta Braves pitcher Julio Teheran, a day after Bautista committed the oh-so-serious crime of flipping his bat after hitting a home run during Wednesday’s game.
The benches cleared and a fracas ensued, which apparently wasn’t enough for Tehran, who retaliated against Bautista the following game. Â

Other teams have taken issue with Bautista for flipping his bat in the past. He notably did it in Game 5 of the ALDS against the Texas Rangers in 2015, which led to discussions of “playing the right way.”Â
Just let the man have fun.Â
