Give Jose Bautista a break already.

The Toronto Blue Jays outfielder was plunked in the leg Thursday by Atlanta Braves pitcher Julio Teheran, a day after Bautista committed the oh-so-serious crime of flipping his bat after hitting a home run during Wednesday’s game.

The benches cleared and a fracas ensued, which apparently wasn’t enough for Tehran, who retaliated against Bautista the following game.

Other teams have taken issue with Bautista for flipping his bat in the past. He notably did it in Game 5 of the ALDS against the Texas Rangers in 2015, which led to discussions of “playing the right way.”
