SALISBURY, Mass. (AP) - A Massachusetts man accused of harassing his neighbor has been ordered to leave town for a year as part of a plea deal.
The Daily News of Newburyport reports (https://bit.ly/2qqBddm ) the man must leave Salisbury and live with his parents in Amesbury as part of a deal reached with prosecutors.
If he pays $250 in restitution and abides by protective orders, a charge of violating an abuse prevention order will be dropped.
The man had been sent to jail for ignoring orders to stay away from his neighbor but was taken to a Worcester hospital in March after he was found unfit to remain behind bars.
The man is accused of directing high-powered lights and loud speakers at his neighbor’s home, among other things, over the course of two years.
