JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (AP) - A western Pennsylvania man has been ordered to stand trial on aggravated assault, involuntary manslaughter and conspiracy in the death of a high school student found in a bullet-riddled sport utility vehicle two years ago.
The (Johnstown) Tribune-Democrat (https://bit.ly/2pIgJ0v ) reports that charges against 24-year-old DaJour Morris were held for trial Monday in Cambria County in the August 2015 death of 17-year-old Makiah Jones.
Authorities allege that Morris and Jones fired at people from the SUV in Johnstown, someone returned fire, and Morris drove to Hornerstown and abandoned the SUV with the victim’s body inside.
Defense attorney James Crosby argued that his client “unwittingly” got caught up in a “gigantic shooting,” and “There’s nothing to suggest” that he had a firearm or “knew what was going to happen.”
